Discover traces of the Sabi capital, Busosan, the Baekmagang River and Gungnamji, with time to pause along the way.

Buyeo was the site of Sabi, a former capital of Baekje. The Archaeological Site in Gwanbuk-ri and Busosanseong Fortress, and the Jeongnimsa Temple Site, are among the Baekje Historic Areas and offer a way into the story of the old capital.
Why visit: look for traces of the Sabi capital at Gwanbuk-ri and Busosanseong, explore temple history at Jeongnimsa, then pause by the water at Gungnamji. Royal sites, temple history and pond scenery offer three different experiences. Gungnamji is not being presented as a component of the World Heritage property.
Arrival planning: consider Buyeo Intercity Bus Terminal as an arrival and return point, and check services from your actual departure location. The county’s Sabi walking trail starts and ends at the terminal. That does not confirm bus services on your travel date or easy walking throughout. Check onward travel to each site and the final return service separately.
Visiting information: the county table checked on 2026-09-07 lists entry hours for Busosanseong and the Five-story Stone Pagoda at Jeongnimsa as 09:00–18:00 in March–October and 09:00–17:00 in November–February. Its separate July 2026 fee table lists standard individual adult admission to Busosanseong at KRW 2,000 and free admission to Jeongnimsa Museum. Confirm outdoor-site and museum conditions, last entry, temporary closures and special programmes separately.
A suggested order: Gwanbuk-ri and Busosanseong → food and a break → Jeongnimsa → Gungnamji if time allows. This is our editorial selection of stops, not the entire official Sabi trail. Reduce the number of stops for your energy level and the weather; allow extra visiting time if adding a museum. An overnight itinerary and travel times between stops have not been field-tested.
Before walking: check slopes, steps, access restrictions, toilets and places to rest at the fortress, sites and waterside. Confirm restaurant hours, dietary needs, language assistance, lighting and return transport for evening visits. The photographed flowers or fountain do not establish current conditions.

A day in Buyeo, tracing Sabi
This plan starts at Buyeo Intercity Bus Terminal and connects Busosanseong Fortress with Jeongnimsa Temple Site. Travel times have not been measured on site. Reduce stops after a late arrival; add Gungnamji only after checking remaining time and your return connection. This is separate from the existing overnight plan.
Arrival — check your return bus first
At Buyeo Intercity Bus Terminal, confirm the departure point and time on your return ticket. Use the county timetable for advance planning, then check actual service and seats for your travel date.
Next move and check: Look up transport and boarding points for the fortress entrance. Walking to stops and waiting times have not been measured.
Busosanseong — choose how far to walk
Check open sections, last admission and slopes before entering. Choose a walk that suits the weather and your energy, and decide on site how much of the Gwanbuk-ri archaeological area to include.
Next move and check: After leaving the fortress, take a meal and rest break. Nakhwaam, Goransa Temple and boat travel are not required stops in this plan.
Food and rest — pause before the next visit
Find an open restaurant or cafe and make time for food, water and a toilet break. No particular business, menu, price or foreign-language service has been vetted.
Next move and check: Before heading to Jeongnimsa Temple Site, check your location, its entrance and road crossings. Ask the business directly about allergies and dietary needs.
Jeongnimsa — separate the site from the museum
Plan the outdoor visit to the five-story stone pagoda separately from entry to Jeongnimsaji Museum. Check opening notices and entry conditions for each.
Next move and check: Check the time left before departure. Gungnamji is an optional addition only if you can arrange onward and return travel; lotus blooms and evening access are not guaranteed.
Return — back to your confirmed departure point
Return to the terminal confirmed at the start. Allow for travel, waiting and boarding before considering extra sightseeing.

Rain or strong heat
Reduce outdoor stops and check Buyeo National Museum notices first. The notice checked on 7 September 2026 describes a temporary closure of the permanent galleries and same-day tickets for some halls. Confirm entry availability and return transport before choosing this alternative.
Toilets and breaks
Ask the tourist information office or each venue about nearby toilets and rest areas. Entrances, opening times and step-free access along this route have not been checked on site.
What the field visit must verify
Record travel and waiting times between the terminal, fortress, meal break, Jeongnimsa and terminal, plus slopes, stairs, crossings and toilets. Check the optional Gungnamji visit and rainy-day alternative separately.
